International development is getting harder. Climate change, population strains, and conflict over resources threaten to undo many of the gains made toward the Millennium Development Goals. Effective development requires dealing with new complexities.

In September 2014, Rockefeller Foundation, USAID, and Sida initiated the Global Resilience Partnership (GRP) – a bold new approach to create systemic approaches to address climate and population change. Development Seed is proud to be a data and technology partner to this effort. Through our work with the GRP, Development Seed is creating tools to provide better data and tools for development practitioners. We are building tools that support coordination between development and disaster response efforts.

We also built the infrastructure that the GRP uses for communications and outreach. To date we’ve rolled out the main GRP website to clearly communicates the imperative and GRPs approach. We built the tools that GRP used to manage submissions to the Global Resilience Challenge. Over the coming months we will roll out more tools to help users to better understand resilience challenges.
